Bourbon or Schotch?

The strong and aromatized bourbons and American whiskey's clearly differ from the Scottish. To taste the difference you should try them consecutively in the same cocktail: the difference will be quite obvious.

Golden Pony

This strong long drink is original because of the combination of different tastes and said to be a real discovery.

Put in a shaker that is half full of ice:

4/10 Scotch Whisky
3/10 Apricot Liqueur
3/10 Orange Juice

Shake and pour in to large tumbler glasses. Possible to top of with soda water.

Black Watch

A light digestive, particularly tasteful after coffee.

Put in an 'old fashioned glass with some ice:

7/10 Scotch Whisky
3/10 Coffee Liqueur

Stir and top off with Soda Water.

Add a strip of lemon skin just before serving.

 

Cabanis

A very aromatic short drink with a soft taste.. Yet quite strong.

Put in a shaker that is half full of ice:

6/10 Scotch Whisky
3/10 Marie Brizard
1/10 Grenadine Syrup

Shake and serve in small tumbler glasses. Decorate with a slice of Lemon.

Belerive

Short drink: Aperitif.

Add to a mixing glass with ice cubes:

3/10 Scotch Whisky
3/10 red Vermouth
3/10 Dry white Vermouth
1/10 Cointreau

Stir well and serve in chilled cocktail glasses.

Rob Roy

This dry short drink makes a pretty strong aperitif.

Put in a mixing glass with some ice cubes:

7/10 Scotch Whisky
3/10 Red Vermouth
1 splash of Angostura

Stir long and serve in cocktail glasses. Add a preserved cherry.

Barbican

A soft and aromatic digestif.

Put in a shaker that is half full of ice:

6/10 Scottish Whisky
3/10 Passion Fruit juice
1/10 Whisky Liqueur

Shake well and serve in cocktail glasses.

 

Mamie Taylor

This refreshing long drink tastes best when it's really warm.

Add to a large tumbler glass with ice:

4 cl. Scotch Whisky
juice of 1 lemon

Stir well and top off with Ginger Ale or Soda Water.

American Russia

Short drink: Aperitif.

Add to a shaker that is 50% filled with ice:

4/10 Bourbon
4/10 Vodka
1/10 Lemon Juice
1/10 Sugar Cane Syrup
1 splash of Angostura

Shake well and serve in cocktail glasses. Add a strip of lemon skin just before serving.
